WHAT IS MANUAL HANDLING?
  • Manual handling is moving anything where human force is required.
  • It is not limited to lifting or carrying a load or only handling a heavy load.
  • Manual handling means using your body to exert force to lift, lower, push, pull, carry, move, hold, restrain or set down a load.
  • The load may be either inanimate, for example a box, or animate, for example a person or an animal.
